The idea of 21st Century Competency (21CC)  may sound modern, but the concepts behind skills like critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving have long been fundamental in education. Education Institutions are now recognising the need prioritise these skills and integrating them into their plans to ensure students are well-prepared for their future education, careers, and everyday life.

Preparing students for success in today’s dynamic world involves mastering various essential skills. These competencies not only enhance academic learning but also prepare students for future challenges in their careers and personal lives.

The skills are broadly classified into 3 key areas, Conceive, Connect and Cultivate.

Nurturing Active 21st Century Early Learners

This workshop will equip educators with skills to develop core 21st Century competencies such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity, as well as skills to develop the social and emotional.

The workshop aims to equip educators with the necessary skills to plan and execute projects effectively. Educators will be introduced to the four stages of project planning: Define, Plan, Execute and Reflect.

Cooperative Learning: Introducing Teamwork in Education

How can the teacher firstly design and teach traditional mathematics, languages, the humanities, and the sciences, then create lessons on process skills in each of these academic content areas, next teach brain-based differentiated lessons besides infusing social skills as well as cater to the various learning styles?

Students don’t all learn “the same thing in the same way on the same day.” As educators in the classroom, we need to consider each child with the learning community, based on his or her own needs, readiness, preferences and interests. It is through differentiation that we can give all these students the opportunity to learn to their full potential.

It is now more necessary than ever to hone your leadership skills and understand how to foster a culture of positive motivation and have a holistic approach to understanding systemic change to retain a competitive edge.

This course explores the foundational theories of mindset and grit, offering practical approaches to differentiate between fixed and growth mindsets, and to integrate the concept of grit as a pivotal factor in educational resilience and success.

A key element in transforming schools’ beliefs and practices successfully lies in the culture in the classroom and it s effects on pedagogical practices. Only within a conducive environment and culture can change take root. Guided by these pertinent considerations, this workshop is designed to equip teachers with the sound knowledge about critical thinking to inform and guide the practices they pick up as reflective and thinking educators of the 21st century.
